Supervision That Goes Beyond the Hours

You already earned the degree. Supervision is where you learn how to actually become the clinician. My approach ensures you aren't just accumulating hours, but developing independent clinical thinking. I am here to challenge decisions, work through difficult cases, identify blind spots, and help you develop your own unique professional identity. We focus on clinical confidence, case conceptualization, ethical decision-making, documentation, therapist identity, and the realities of behavioral healthcare systems.

  • Case conceptualization and treatment planning
  • Evidence-informed interventions

Texas LPC Associate Requirements

Requirements are set by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) and are subject to change. At the time of writing, Texas LPC Associates must complete:

  • 3,000 hours of supervised experience
  • At least 1,500 hours of direct counseling
  • A minimum period of 18 months
  • At least 4 hours of direct supervision per month

Associates are responsible for staying current with Texas BHEC rules and maintaining their own compliance.

Who I May Be a Good Fit For

You may be a good fit if you:

  • Want more than administrative supervision
  • Want constructive feedback rather than simple validation
  • Are willing to discuss mistakes and difficult cases
  • Value ethical practice and good documentation
  • Want exposure to the realities of private practice
  • Are interested in trauma-informed care and military populations

What Supervision Is Not

Please note that clinical supervision is not:

  • Personal therapy
  • Guaranteed employment or referrals
  • Guaranteed credentialing with insurance companies
  • Someone simply signing off on hours without active participation
